"They’re not magic wands, but they reached out a hand when I needed one."

Since I started getting into crystal healing, I’ve noticed real changes in how I manage my emotions, my energy, and even my self-esteem.
Did the stones do all the work? No.
Did they help me move forward with more calm and clarity? Yes. Absolutely.
What is Crystal Healing, really?
Crystal healing (or lithotherapy) is the use of stones and crystals for their energetic properties. The idea is that each crystal vibrates at a certain frequency, and that these vibrations can influence our own energy (body, mind, emotions...).
Some stones are calming, others energizing. Some help you focus, while others open you up to self-love. It’s all about resonance.
⚠️ Heads up: this is a holistic, energetic practice — based on experience, intuition, and symbolic meaning. It’s not scientifically proven. It’s not meant to replace therapy or medicine. But it can support your personal growth in a subtle, powerful way.
What crystals have brought me, personally
💙 Lapis Lazuli – To speak my truth (and soothe my anger)
This was one of the first stones that really spoke to me. I was going through a time where expressing how I felt, setting boundaries, or even naming my anger was really hard. Lapis Lazuli helped unlock all of that. I started speaking more openly — but also more calmly. I wore it every day for weeks. I could feel a real shift.
💗 Rose Quartz – To learn to love myself (a little more)
Forget the romantic love clichés (sorry, no prince charming will show up at your door just because you wore a rose quartz bracelet). This stone is mostly about self-love. It helped me soften the way I looked at myself. To accept how I am — my flaws, my quirks — and to recognize my strengths too, without shame. It gave me a little more confidence, slowly but surely.
🖤 Black Tourmaline – To stay grounded when my mind’s all over the place
When my mind races, when I’m thinking about ten things at once, starting five projects and finishing none — black tourmaline is my anchor. It grounds me. It helps me slow down, focus, breathe. I also use it during periods of intense stress or mental fatigue. It keeps me steady.
☀️ Sunstone – To bring back a little spark
On those low days, when I feel flat, demotivated, or negative, sunstone helps me reconnect to a more positive mindset. It doesn’t make me euphoric, but it gently reminds me of joy. Of simple things. It boosts creativity, motivation, and gives me that little push to get back into action.
How to choose your first crystal
A quick guide for beginners (or curious witches)
You want to get started, but you don’t know where to begin? Good news: you don’t choose the crystal — the crystal chooses you.Yes, really. And no, it’s not just a cute line from my favorite fantasy saga.
When you walk into a crystal shop (in person is best for your first time), look around, feel, touch (if it’s allowed). There’s often one stone that grabs your attention more than the others. It sparkles a little more to you, or it just feels... right. Even if you don’t know why — pick that one.
It’s like a magic wand in Harry Potter: it knows what you need. And every time I’ve done this, when I looked up the properties afterwards, it was exactly what I was needing at that point. Seriously — goosebumps.
A few tips to help you:
Don’t choose “by function” at first. Don’t go in saying “I’m stressed, I need amethyst.” Let your intuition lead.
Go to a physical store if possible. The direct connection matters. But if you’re shopping online, look at the pictures and see which one draws you in.
Trust your body. If a stone warms your hand, gives you tingles, or just moves something in you — that’s your sign.
Read the meanings after you choose, not before. You’ll be surprised how spot-on it is.
If you’re really unsure, amethyst and rose quartz are great gentle starters (and yes, they’re my personal faves 💜).
How to use your crystals
🔋 Cleanse and recharge regularly
If you wear a stone often, it will absorb energy — yours, others’, the environment. So it needs to be cleansed and recharged regularly to stay effective.
Cleansing methods:
Clear water: great for solid stones like quartz or tourmaline. ⚠️ Be careful: some stones, like selenite, dissolve in water. Always check first!
Smoke cleansing: with incense, palo santo, or a cleansing bundle. Pass the stone through the smoke with intention.
Dry salt: place the crystal in a bowl of salt (not directly on it — wrap it in a small cloth or pouch).
Recharging methods:
Sunlight: 1–2 hours is enough (avoid for sensitive stones like rose quartz — it can fade).
Moonlight: especially during a full moon — great for intuition, emotional balance, and gentle recharge.
Geodes: place your smaller stones inside an amethyst or quartz geode to recharge them.
Always double-check whether your stone can handle sunlight, salt, or water. There are plenty of guides online (or just ask me!).
In short:
Crystals have helped me create space, understand myself better, and move forward with more clarity. They won’t "fix" you or magically make things disappear.
But if you’re already on a path — therapy, self-development, spirituality — they can give you a real boost.A quiet, steady support. A little shift in energy that helps you stay aligned with where you want to go.
